Below are links to search results. In each case I did at least one thing wrong, which is why they yield zany results.
- I want books about the Prester John. Why does the catalog give me so many results?
- I want historic books (primary sources) about Sudan published between 1800. In HathiTrust I conduct a search & limit results to publications before 1800. Why are there so few?
- I searched Ethiopia AND colonialism AND history in the library catalog and found ~50 excellent books options. The same search brings up a the same number of articles in Historical Abstracts, but the topics of which are all over the place. Why?
- I want History articles about Ancient Egypt. I conducted a Title search for Ancient Egypt and limited the search to peer reviewed articles in the main library catalog. Why are there so many weird results?
- I really want to read Massingham, Sarah, and Ronika K. Power. “Interventive Dental Therapy in Ancient Egypt (ca. 2686 BCE – AD 323): A Critical Review.” International journal of paleopathology 38 (2022): 64–75. but WM Libraries doesn't have this journal.
- I found this really interesting journal article on African Christianity published by Oxford. Should I cite it as a research article in the final project?
