Using ORCID with SciENcv

Connecting ORCID to SciENcv

  1. Login to the SciENcv website. If you don't already have an account, you can create one using your ORCID iD - click the button for "More Options" on the SciENcv website and select the link for ORCID from the list of options. This will automatically connect SciENcv to your ORCID account and you can skip step 2.
  2. Link your account to ORCID - After logging in, you'll see a gray box for your profile. Click the link for "Edit" to update your profile and add your ORCID iD.
    1. Under "Optional Information", click the link to "Add your ORCID iD to this profile"
    2. ORCID will ask for your permission to authorize access. Click the "Authorize access" button to confirm
    3. Click the Save button

Creating CVs with SciENcv and ORCID

  1. Login to the SciENcv website and click the link for "Create new document"
  2. (If you're already logged in and don't see the link, go to your dashboard by clicking on your name in the upper right corner and selecting "Dashboard". In the bottom right corner, there will be a box for SciENcv with a link to create a new CV or to "Manage SciENcv").
  3. For the CV, enter a name for your document and select the format
  4. For data source, select ORCID from the list of External Sources
  5. SciENcv will fill in the new CV with the information you have provided in ORCID
  6. Add citations to the CV - look for links to "Select citations" or "Edit entries". These will open a window with a tab for ORCID. Select the ORCID tab to choose the entries you would like to add.
