IMPORTANT NOTE
Many databases have material type filters that can be used to find specific types of formats.
For example, American's Historical Imprints includes filters for printings, maps, lithographs, and other image types. While searching for other materials in primary source databases, pay attention to these filters too.
To find published collections of historic images, use the subject headings ("Pictorial works" OR illustrated) combined with your subject of interest.'
Do not limit publication date because it will exclude collections of documents published later.
You can also conduct a normal search and then use the "images" tab on the left after your results load.
In WorldCat, use Advanced Search and limit results to "visual Materials" and then subject search by topic.
Look at the books tab first to find republished historical material. Once you have done this, limit the publication date filter to narrow the results still further.
