At your tables, spend 5 minutes brainstorming.
One century from now, how will a historian study your life? How will they know your daily life, your hopes and dreams, your opinions of your contemporary 21st century world? Consider.
- What types of historical documents will you leave behind?
- How reflective of your life are this documents?
- What is the likelihood each document will survive a century?
- If they did survive, where might they end up?
Example:
- My browser search history
- As a librarian I conduct hundreds of searches a week, none of them my own -- do does my search history reflect my own interests/views/opinions?
- Will this information survive a century? Maybe, if server farms still exist.
