Due to the global health pandemic, the Fall 2020 semester, the Music Library is observing a closed stacks model and will be open to the public by appointment only on MWF from 10 am - 2 pm. Circulation procedures for books, scores, and CDs/DVDs at the Music Library have changed. While some equipment is not circulating due to the inability to properly sanitize our equipment checkout policy remains the same.
What is a "closed stacks" model?
Closed stacks mean that our collection is not browsable. However, you can 100% absolutely still access our collections (except "Library-Use Only materials) by visiting our catalog and requesting items for pickup at the Music Library. Be sure to select the Music Library as your pickup location.
How do I pick up my items at the Music Library?
Since we're open by appointment only on MWF from 10 am - 2 pm, once your request has been filled, you'll receive a link by one of our friendly ML staff to reserve a 15 minute slot to come pick up your items. The Music Library is a tiny (but mighty!) space. In order to keep our occupancy numbers low and our staff members safe, it is imperative that you show up on time to retrieve your items. Don't forget your mask and please bring your ID as our staff will need to verify before you can collect your items.
How do I return items that I've checked out from the Music Library?
MWF from 10 am - 2 pm you can return items to the bin located outside of the Music Library. To return books, scores, and CDs/DVDs that belong to the Music Library outside of these hours, please use one of the book returns in the parking lot behind Swem, the front lobby of Swem, or the Wolf Law Library book return. All equipment checked out from the Music Library must be returned during operating hours.
