Diary of a schoolteacher and farmer who lived in James City County, Virginia as well as in Williamsburg and in Warwick County, Virginia. He rented the President's House at the College of William and Mary. Includes comments on church meetings, schools, local people and weather. Also includes lists of students attending his schools in Williamsburg and Warwick County.

Collection includes letters, citations, scripts of plays, photographs, slides and videos concerning Rosa Marie Fuller's teaching career and James A. Fuller's employment with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and his service with the Boy Scouts.

Glenna Shiflett's papers concerning the Twentieth-Century Gallery (This Century Gallery) of Williamsburg, her teaching career in public schools and tax and other documents for property on Richmond Road in Williamsburg, Virginia owned by her and her husband, Thomas Shiflett.

Scrapbook of the Magruder School Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Magruder School is located on Penniman Road in York County, Virginia. Includes history of the School Improvement League of Magruder School, the precursor to the PTA, certificates and newspaper clippings.

Two copies of transcripts and one corresponding cassette tapes of the Oral History Project directed by Robinette Fitzsimmon of the James City County Historical Commission. Interviews of residents of James City County, City of Williamsburg and York County, Virginia. Topics range from Education to Farming to Eastern State Hospital. Time periods covered begin with family memories from the Revolutionary War to the 1980's. Many interviewees were born in late 1800's to early 1900's.

Includes alphabet book created by Virgie Margaret Wickre while a first grade elementary student in Williamsburg Virginia, 1914, as well as her 1925 high school diploma from Williamsburg High School. The alphabet book is in form of a scrapbook and according to the attached tag, it was displayed at the 1914 Peninsula School Fair.

Notebook, 1935, kept by Bobby Hoke, at Matthew Whaley School, Williamsburg, Va. entitled, "Essentials of English," which includes pictures and clippings to illustrate grammatical rules.

Papers of Stella Neiman while on the Williamsburg City Council including reports, minutes, agenda, clippings, etc. and report on merit pay for school teachers in Williamsburg-James City County. Includes Professor Fraser Neiman's Harvard dissertation on English literature. She was a member of the Williamsburg City Council from 1966-1970, the Williamsburg-James City County School Board from 1981-1987 and the Williamsburg Planning Commission from 1989-1997.

Official and non-official papers of Channing Hall, III, of Williamsburg, former member of City Council. Most of the collection concerns the government of the City of Williamsburg, Virginia. Includes one volume of Williamsburg and James City County Public Schools Fiscal Year 2003 Proposed Operating Budget. Also includes correspondence about a manuscript document, dated July 15, 1773, listing subscribers to establish a public school in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Included are minutes of the Wise Light Infantry Co. of Williamsburg, 1881-1882; the College of William & Mary Alumni Association, 1906-1917; papers concerning the College of William & Mary including letters, 1873, from Benjamin S. Ewell; the Williamsburg Free School Trustees, 1870-1907; and the Democratic Committee of Williamsburg. Also accounts of the state school funds, 1894-1911; the city school funds, 1906-1911, 1919-1924; Bruton Parish Church 1897-1938; and of Robert F. Cole (father of Henry D. Cole), 1843-1856.

Administrative records, programs and working materials for plays, attendance records and financial records of the Jack and Jill Nursery and Kindergarten, operated by Cary Wynne Boelt in Williamsburg, Virginia. A rough draft inventory and a history of the Jack and Jill Nursery and Kindergarten Records by Frederick W. Boelt are filed at the beginning of the Collection.

Scrapbooks, yearbooks, photographs, minutes and correspondence showing the activities, projects, causes and meetings of the Woman's Club of Williamsburg. The Woman's Club was founded to mostly help local schools.

Minutes, and monthly and annual reports of the Williamsburg Civic League, 1907-1936. The League was founded as the Village Improvement Society, later the Educational & Civic Association, then the Women's Club.

Includes names of Board, H.D. Cole, A. Brooks, R.L. Spencer; H.N. Phillips, Superintendant. Inside the card are the printed names of the pupils in the sixth and seventh grades.

Many items are copies of biographies, newspaper articles, and ephemera documenting local history including folklore, education, Williamsburg people and organizations.
