HIST 212 / AMES 390: Modern Iran since 1800 (Spring 2023)

What makes a source "good" anyway?

Consider:

  • Who wrote the source?
  • When? Is it outdated?
  • What is their methodology / sources?
  • Who is the audience?
  • Who is the publisher?
  • Is their argument convincing?
  • Is the article/book related to your paper?

Hint: This isn't a trick, and none of the sources below are "bad" -- they are just varying levels of useful.
