"The Voices from the Rwanda Tribunal collection contains 49 video interviews conducted with personnel from the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). Collected in 2008, these interviews reveal the challenges of striving for justice and reconciliation after genocide."

Before and after the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, and with ongoing civil wars in Burundi and DRC, a great number of written documents were produced in the Great African Lakes region, but without any procedures for record or storage. The International Documentation Network on the Great African Lakes Region originated in 1994, at the initiative of Africanist scholars who were willing to keep track of, and make public, unpublished documents about this troubled part of Africa. This “grey literature,” consisted of texts from local NGOs, political parties, researchers, scholars, local press, individuals etc., most of them produced between 1990 and 2000. Document collection resulted in a total of about 100,000 pages (4,000 documents). Collection activities ceased in March 2009, but the CCDP website now hosts this database that offers the full content of the documents collected.

Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) was established by the Statistics Act of 2006 to replace CBS. The Act establishes KNBS as a Semi-Autonomous Government Agency incorporated under the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030. Its core mandate is collection, compilation, analysis, publication and dissemination of statistical information for public use, with an additional role of coordinating, monitoring and supervising the National Statistical System (NSS).

"The Sudan Archive was founded in 1957, the year after Sudanese independence, to collect and preserve the papers of administrators from the Sudan Political Service, missionaries, soldiers, business people, doctors, agriculturalists, teachers and others who had served or lived in the Sudan (now Sudan and South Sudan) during the Anglo-Egyptian Condominium (1898-1955). There is a significant amount of Mahdist material as well as papers relating to the military campaigns of the 1880s and 1890s, while in recent years the scope of the Archive has extended to the period after independence and now contains material up to the present day. The Archive also holds substantial numbers of papers relating to Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Palestine, Transjordan, Syria and African states bordering on Sudan and South Sudan."

University of Washington project to digitize records of early women Egyptologists

The EAMENA team use remote sensing to identify archaeological sites and record their condition in about twenty countries in the MENA region, working in collaboration with local and national heritage authorities in the partner countries. The project has created an open access online database that already contains over 338,000 records.

The extensive photographic database of relevant temples, churches, mosques, and other sacred sites is being published on the Manar al-Athar website [http://www.manar-al-athar.ox.ac.uk/ ]. This includes many sites in Lebanon, as well as the Holy Land, with evidence of conversion or shared usage.

The Chicago Online Bibliography of Mamluk Studies is an on-going project of the Middle East Documentation Center at the University of Chicago, the aim of which is to compile comprehensive bibliographies of all primary sources relating to the Mamluk sultanate of Egypt and Syria, as well as all research and discussion--scholarly and popular--germane to the subject. From the Ottoman Empire to the Arab Spring, the countries of the Middle East and North Africa have stood at the crossroads of history. The Middle Eastern and North African Newspapers collection includes publications from across this dynamic region, providing unique insights into the history of individual countries, as well as broad viewpoints on key historic events from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century.

The Online Egyptological Bibliography (OEB) is the successor of the Annual Egyptological Bibliography (AEB). . . The Online Egyptological Bibliography (OEB) holds the largest available collection of references in Egyptological literature and is updated nearly every day. It includes the records and abstracts from Annual Egyptological Bibliography (AEB, 1947-2001), combined with Bibliographie Altägypten (BA, 1822-1946), the Aigyptos database with keywords, and more than 50,000 further items. Coverage is from 1822 to the present. OEB is a collaboration of the University of Oxford and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.

Papyri.info has two primary components. The Papyrological Navigator (PN) supports searching, browsing, and aggregation of ancient papyrological documents and related materials; the Papyrological Editor (PE) enables multi-author, version controlled, peer reviewed scholarly curation of papyrological texts, translations, commentary, scholarly metadata, institutional catalog records, bibliography, and images.
Papyri.info aggregates material from the Advanced Papyrological Information System (APIS), Duke Databank of Documentary Papyri (DDbDP), Heidelberger Gesamtverzeichnis der griechischen Papyrusurkunden Ägyptens (HGV), Bibliographie Papyrologique (BP), and depends on close collaboration with Trismegistos, for rigorous maintenance of relationship mapping and unique identifiers. Work is in progress to incorporate content from the Arabic Papyrological Database (APD) as well.

Perseus Digital Library is an open access collection of historical texts and images. It primarily covers the history, literature, and culture of the Greco-Roman world, but it also includes materials from other historical periods, locations, and languages.

Since 1986, the Princeton Geniza Lab has been studying and digitizing historical documents from the Cairo Geniza, a cache of roughly 400,000 fragments of paper and parchment preserved in a medieval Egyptian synagogue.

We study the geniza's ephemeral, everyday texts — unique sources for the history of the Middle East and of premodern Jewish communities from Spain to Sumatra. The documents include letters, legal documents, accounts and lists.

The Cairo Geniza, a cache of texts preserved in a medieval Egyptian synagogue, is a snapshot of everyday life over the past thousand years, a portrait of the Jewish communities of the Mediterranean and Red Sea regions in an era when the vast majority of the world’s Jews lived in the Islamic Middle East.

The Tebtunis papyri form the largest collection of papyrus texts in the Americas. The collection has never been counted and inventoried completely, but the number of fragments contained in it exceeds 26,000.

The Tebtunis Papyri Database contains detailed records for several thousand papyrus documents, and a small group of ostraka. This project is ongoing, so only a fraction of the Bancroft Library’s papyrus collection is cataloged to date, and some database records are incomplete. We continually add to and update this growing resource.
